International Ocean Systems: Mission commemorates 70th anniversary of World War I I tragedy

Just 50 metres below the ocean surface off the coast of southern England, wreckage of one of the worst tragedies of World War II rests silently in the sand. The wreckage is from two United States landing ship tanks (LSTs) sunk after being torpedoed by German E-boats during Exercise Tiger, the secret rehearsal for the D-Day invasion of Normandy's Utah Beach.
