BOSTON (March 28, 2012) – Greenough, a national public relations, social media and marketing firm, today announced that the Massachusetts Math + Science Initiative (MMSI) has selected the agency to help promote its cause and reach a larger audience through traditional, social and digital media. MMSI, a division of Mass Insight Education, is a public/private partnership that increases college opportunities for minority and low-income high school students by expanding Advanced Placement (AP) participation and performance. “Greenough’s ability to tell our story with a wealth of experience in science, technology and policy makes the company a great fit for us,” said Mort Orlov, president of MMSI. “Even this early in our relationship, Greenough has had a positive impact: The agency helped organize and execute a very successful event at the Massachusetts State House to share MMSI’s extraordinary results. We look forward to working with them as we continue to spread the MMSI story to a wider audience.”
Greenough will support MMSI’s goal of securing additional funding from both private companies and the state, which will allow the program to expand into additional high schools. To that end, Greenough will provide assistance with media relations, creation of innovative content, social media monitoring, video development and more.
“Through our work in life science and healthcare, we’ve seen firsthand how important math and science are to this expanding sector,” said Phil Greenough, president of Greenough. “Working with MMSI, we’re able to tell compelling stories for an organization that ultimately benefits us all, and that’s particularly exciting for us.”
